Keynote 2016

Due to the snow cancellation and rescheduling for March 25th, we unfortunately will not have a Keynote speaker due to the abbreviated schedule.

Marta da Silva McAlister
Program Manager, Google for Education, Google

She is based in Cambridge, MA, and works with k12 schools using tablets with Google Play for Education. At Google, Marta has also worked in Sales on the Google Adwords team, working with agencies that support small to medium businesses. Before Google, Marta was a Google Apps for Education teacher; she taught 6th and 7th grade Special Education and mathematics, in the Bronx, NY. Marta has a masters in Special Education and studied International Relations as an undergraduate. When she’s not at work, Marta is often traveling, reading and running.

Marta's keynote:  How Do We Prepare Our Student for the Future?

What skills are employers looking for?  How can educators adopt different mindsets to encourage the development of these skills (both for themselves and for students) in their classrooms? This is not just about integrating technology in the classroom to prepare students for tomorrow; it's a rally for the need to change the culture and expectations in schools today in order to help craft what that tomorrow could be.
